the 1o1 designs and builds websites where nothing is decorative and everything emits. One canvas, a short list of colors, and spacing set to the pixel.

001 / Approach
Seven tubes. One step. Nothing else.
We start from the standard part: one grid, one type family, a short list of colors. Then every element is placed at an exact interval, and the spacing does the design.
- Standard parts
- Stock components, set with intent. Custom only where the default is wrong.
- Exact intervals
- One spacing scale, applied without exceptions. Rhythm is the layout.
- Pure color
- A few hues, never blended in the file. Blended by light, on the wall, by the eye.
010 / Studies
Four studies in light.
Self-initiated experiments from the studio. Each one fixes a single constraint and shows how far it goes.
-
A dashboard where the only data ink is emitted light. Charts are lines, everything else stays dark.
-
Page transitions that behave like a gas tube: strike, dip, hold. Capped at two dips so nothing strobes.
-
Product pages lit from one edge. The cursor is a second source, and it casts the only shadows.
-
Nine colors, one length, no exceptions. A design system small enough to read in a minute.
011 / Mixing
Color is mixed in the room, not in the file.
Pick two tubes. The wall receives both and adds them in linear light. The ring shows what your eye gets.
100 / Capabilities
What the studio builds.
-
Marks, type and color rules that hold across a site, a deck and a sign.
-
Flows, layouts and components designed in the browser and checked from 320px up.
-
Scroll, shaders and micro-interactions, each with a reduced-motion path.
-
Hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No template, no page builder.
